Meet Our Founder

Meet Deborah Davis, she was born and raised in the South Texas region known as the Rio Grande Valley. As a single mother of 3 and survivor of domestic violence, she pursued her passion as a faith-based entrepreneur with a mission to assist other women like her. Although faced with challenges of balancing home, family, school and work life as a single parent, she believes that her faith in her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, was what enabled her to accomplish the schools and careers of her dreams. She graduated from the University of Texas-Pan American in Edinburg, Texas with a B.B.A. in Management and a certification in Culinary Arts from International Culinary Institute SUGAR in Pharr, Texas. She enjoys motherhood, volunteering at her local church, has served her community for 15 years in local government, and enjoys being an inspiration to single mothers and survivors of domestic violence in her community.

What inspired Deborah Davis to create Deby's Bakehouse and More were the needs of her community. The Rio Grande Valley faces four (4) great challenges; obesity, poverty, domestic violence and single parenting; therefore, inspired by scripture, John 6:35 that reads, "And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst" DBHM sought to specialize in creating healthier and artistic alternatives to fit the on-the-go lifestyles of people today and provide a place where people in her community, especially women, single mothers, and survivors of domestic violence, can showcase and sell their upscale designs. At DBHM, we believe in bringing the good news and good works into our community.

Meet Our Partner

Meet our Executive Chef, Vilma Trejo, she was born and raised in the Rio Grande Valley as well. She is a widow mother of 4. She pursued her passion as a faith-based entrepreneur in the field of baking and culinary. In 2022, Vilma faced the tragedy of losing her husband; and the challenge of balancing home, family, school and work life as a single parent, but she too believes that her faith in her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, is what enables her to accomplish the schools and careers of her dreams. She obtained two (2) certifications in Culinary Arts from International Culinary Institute SUGAR in Pharr, Texas. She enjoys motherhood, volunteering at her local church, and doing missionary work for families in need in Mexico.

Inspired by the scripture, 1 Corinthians 16:14, "Let all that you do be done in love." Vilma believes that love must also be displayed on a plate; therefore, her dishes are genuinely made out of love. Like the mission of DBHM, it is Vilma's mission to share the good news and good works of Jesus Christ to all those who get to taste her every meal, whether its people in her local community or out in her missionary field. It is the smile upon men, women and children's faces that inspires Vilma to pursue her passion and career in culinary arts. At DBHM, we are blessed to have a partner like Executive Chef, Vilma with us; where together as a team we get to bring the life the Psalm 34:8 that reads, "taste and see that the Lord is good" through our baked goods and home goods.
